Growing up in Port Alberni, Krista trained with renowned Royal Conservatory piano teacher and examiner Patricia Miller for 10 years, played tenor saxophone in both concert and jazz bands for 6 years, and sang in numerous award-winning concert, chamber, and vocal jazz ensembles. Krista went on the Jazz Studies program at Malaspina (now Vancouver Island University) as a vocal major, and began teaching piano, voice, and woodwinds in 2002. Her enthusiasm for teaching is evident in her fun and engaging lessons, and she loves working with people of all ages, especially children. Krista graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work from VIU in 2018, and incorporates therapeutic elements into all of her lessons.
